Joel Solis, M.D. Annual Scholarship in Memory of Robert Villasenor

The scholarship was established in loving memory of Robert Villasenor, an influential mentor in Joel Solis’ life who encouraged him through each step of his medical education. Joel and his wife Carmen both serve on the College of Sciences Advancement Council. This scholarship is awarded to UTSA students _pursuing a course of study leading to medical school _and meet the following criteria:

• Major: Any in the College of Sciences

• GPA: cumulative 2.0+ (4.0 scale)

• Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need, as determined by the FAFSA on file with the UTSA Office of Financial Aid

• Automatically renewed each year if all eligibility criteria are met
