Jack and Betty Mee Cheetham Endowed Scholarship in Communication

This scholarship is open to undergraduate students in the Department of Communication
Recipients must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree within the Department of Communication, College of Liberal and Fine Arts, at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Preference may be given to students pursuing a specialization in News and News Media or another specialization that prepares future news professionals.

*Must be enrolled on a full-time basis
*Must be in good academic standing at UTSA
*Must have successfully completed a minimum of 60 credit hours
*Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
*Must submit a two to three page essay on a contemporary topic selected by the chair of the Department of Communication. The essay should demonstrate original thinking, a sense of humor, a grasp of history, and clarity of style that teenagers and senior citizens alike can understand. The recipient must present pro and con or liberal and conservative approaches to the topic assigned.
