Undergraduate or Graduate
Graduate students must:
- Be enrolled on a full-time basis (9 hours) and be actively pursuing a MFA degree in fine arts studio disciplines defined as; ceramics (preference), new media, painting, drawing, photography, print making or sculpture
- Hold a BA or BFA degree in art or a related discipline or complete appropriate degree by the beginning of graduate level enrollment period.
Undergraduate students must:
- Be enrolled on a full-time basis (12 hours) and actively pursuing an BA degree in art (ceramics applicants given preference)
- Have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above and meet or exceed undergraduate admission standards

- Please write a letter of intent for the upcoming academic year as it relates to your experience and commitment to Art and Art History.
- Upload a resume/CV that demonstrates evidence of accomplishment.
- Updated and current portfolio Studio Art Students: Enter between 5 to 10 works including the title, media, dimensions, year, and a link to the video (if applicable), saved as 1 PDF. Information for each work should be found directly next to the work, either beside or below the image. For video work entries, please include a still image of the video and include a link to the video where it can be viewed online. Portfolio files need to be saved as 1 PDF with a maximum file size of 10 MB. Name of file formatted as "lastname_firstname_Portfolio". Art History and Criticism Students: Upload 1 scholarly research paper, saved as a PDF with a maximum file size of 10 MB. Name of file formatted as "lastname_firstname_Portfolio".
- Letter of Recommendation: Please request a letter of recommendation from a UTSA faculty member (newly admitted students can provide a letter from a faculty member at a college or university previously attended; incoming freshman may submit a letter from a high school faculty member).
