UTSA Parent Council Endowment Scholarship

Scholarship for students whose families hold membership in the UTSA Family Association. For details on free membership to the Family Association visit: utsa.edu/family/join.

  1. This scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled on a full-time basis who are actively pursuing a degree at the University.
  2. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, as defined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  3. Preference will be given to those whose families hold membership in the UTSA Family Association.
  4. The number of these scholarships will vary according to the availability of funds.

  1. Is someone in your family a member of the UTSA Family Association?
  2. Please provide a resume documenting your leadership, community service, and involvement, on or off campus.
  3. Essay: Write a brief essay (500 words minimum/1500 words maximum) that answers the following question:

    UTSA Family Association defines family as the people who care for each other deeply, support one another through challenges, and celebrate together when they succeed. This means that family can be parents and siblings, friends from the neighborhood, or teachers and mentors from school.

    Write an essay sharing your definition of family and how you have been supported during your time at UTSA. Include an example or two of challenges or celebrations you have experienced as a UTSA student and family, the lessons you have learned from your family, and how you applied those lessons to your academic career success and journey.
