Soros Fellowships for New Americans
The Soros Fellowship is a highly selective merit-based fellowship program honoring the contributions of immigrants and their children to the United States. The fellowship program selects annually 30 students from across the US, who are immigrants or the children of immigrants, seeking a full-time graduate school degree in the United States Students will apply either as a senior or while in graduate school. Alumni of UTSA under 30 years old are encouraged to apply. Students of all fields are allowed to apply.
Award: $90,000 over two years
Eligibility Requirements:
- Student must be enrolling or enrolled in graduate school as of the application deadline
- Age 30 or younger as of the application deadline
- New American Status (immigrant or the child of an immigrant)
- Both birth parents must have been born outside of the US as non-US citizens
One of the following must also apply:
- Born in the US
- Naturalized Citizen
- Green Card holder
- Born outside the US and adopted by American parents
- DACA status
