National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program
The NSF-GRFP is a fellowship program recognizing and supporting outstanding seniors and graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, who are seeking research based master’s and doctoral degrees at an accredited United States institutions. The program aims to increase the diversity of students in science and engineering fields by encouraging underrepresented groups to apply. Women, minorities, persons with disabilities and veterans are highly encouraged to apply
Award: Three-year annual stipend of $34,000 and a $12,000 allowance for the tuition and fees. Approximately 1,600 are awarded nationwide
Eligibility Requirements:
- Students must be in their senior year applying to a graduate program or already enrolled in a graduate program (Ph.D. highly preferred for most fields)
- Have completed no more than one academic year (according to institution’s academic calendar) while enrolled in a graduate degree program (non-degree coursework must be clearly identified in the transcript and does not count toward this limit)
- Students must have acquired an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year institution in the United States by start of graduate program
