UTSA Presidential Inclusive Excellence Scholarship

Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 Semester

To recognize leadership and impact on the UTSA community, the Office of Inclusive Excellence is offering the UTSA Presidential Inclusive Excellence Scholarship that will provide tuition and fees for two semesters (up to $8,000) for students during the 2023-2024 academic year. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of scholarship dollars that aligns with your commitment to inclusive excellence as a student leader at UTSA..

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Must be a full time, degree-seeking, undergraduate student in good academic standing.
  • Must have earned at least 60 but not more than 110 semester credit hours and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the time of application.
  • Clearly articulate your commitment to, and vision for, inclusive excellence, as it relates to improving campus culture.
  • Clearly demonstrate your leadership experience and/or role in inclusive excellence, as it relates to improving the campus culture.
  • Provide two references that are familiar with your leadership: impact on the campus, and/or your community, and your passion for inclusive excellence.

Student Expectations During the Year:

  • Available for an introductory meeting to take place on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
  • Available for 4 in-person seminars for both fall and spring semesters. The meeting time will be Wednesday at 6pm.
  • Work directly with the Office of the Vice President for Inclusive Excellence to coordinate campus-wide inclusion initiatives.
  • Assist with identifying issues on campus and address them through active and passive programming.
  • Participate in and encourage dialogue around issues of difference and develop competent mechanisms for addressing these issues.
  • Participate in an Experiential Learning activity related to inclusive excellence during the award.
  • Available for in-person or virtual check in to evaluate the engagement in Experiential Learning activities.
  • Participate in the Martin Luther King (January) and Cesar Chavez (March) marches.
