XQuant Master's Initiative
Fall 2026 – This Scholarship is not scheduled to be renewed after Fall 2026
1. Must be eligible to receive federal financial aid. (US Citizen, US permanent resident, or other listed in https://studentaid.gov/sites/default/files/eligibility.pdf)
2. Have FAFSA for academic year 2026-2027. Your form needs to be submitted for a “Student College or Career School Plan” as Master’s , doctorate, or graduate certificate program (FAFSA’s Question 4).
3. Must Meet income qualification: AGI in FAFSA (filed for graduate school) needs to be under the limits in https://www.ed.gov/about/ed-offices/ope/trio/federal-trio-programs-current-year-low-income-levels (for the family size in your FAFSA)
4. Must satisfy one of the following enrollment requirements: (1) be admitted or enrolled in the Master’s of Science in Business Research (MSBR); (2) be admitted in the MSECON (any concentration), enroll in the first semester of this program, and substitute ECO 7053 for ECO 6113; or (3) be admitted in the MSFIN, enroll in the first semester of this program, and substitute ECO 7053 for an elective. In all cases the student must enroll at least 9 SCH (semester credit hours) in Fall 2026.
5. Renewed students must be in good academic standing with the university, in particular they must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average in their graduate coursework, verified at the beginning of each semester in which the scholarship is renewed.
6. Funds from this scholarship will be disbursed in fall 2026 and are contingent upon the availability of funds authorized under PPOHA Grant P031M240034 and the recipient successfully completing their commitments with the XQuant program. Exact amount is be determined by the XQuant Steering Committee per SCH enrolled (amount will be at least $529.1/SCH). Funds can be used towards tuition and fees in Fall 2026. Funds will not be available after October 1st, 2026. Students must complete post acceptance and verify disbursement has taken place before this date.
7. Selection of the recipient(s) will be made by XQuant Scholarship Committee on a rolling basis on the 15th and last day of each month.
8. Academic merit will be considered in the selection process among eligible students. By applying to the grant, students agree that XQuant Scholarship Committee reviews their UT San Antonio application materials.
XQuant program has the following commitments:
• Attend XQuant activities: if held, Math, Linear Algebra and Probability bootcamp, and Ph.D./MSBR Orientation (MSECON and MSFIN students must attend also this orientation).
