Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Spring 2026 Transfer Applicants
Deadline: November 1, 2025
Incoming transfers who are members of Phi Theta Kappa, who have a 3.0 GPA can apply for the UTSA Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship of $500 per semester. Funding for this scholarship is limited, so awards are offered on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted. Students are awarded for four consecutive semesters, not including summer as long as renewal criteria is met. Students enrolled in a fully online program are not eligible for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.
Criteria
Students interested in this scholarship must have the following:
- Be a member of Phi Theta Kappa and submit proof of membership before the deadline.
- Must be an incoming first-time transfer student
- Be admitted to UTSA by the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship application deadline
- Have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher on all college-level coursework attempted and be in good academic standing
- Must be enrolled full-time during the Fall and Spring semesters at UTSA
- Have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file; however, financial need is not a criterion
Renewal Criteria
Automatic renewal upon completion of the following:
- Must enroll full-time each semester in at least 12 hours for the Fall and Spring semesters
- Must earn a 3.0 UTSA grade point average or higher each semester.

- In order to be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must upload a copy of your Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) membership certificate. Your name and PTK membership number must be visible to be eligible. Membership alone does not guarantee a scholarship.
