The Katie N. Reed Endowed Scholarship
Current undergraduate students or entering freshmen.
Must be a first generation college student. Neither of the student’s parents attended a college or a university
Applicants must have applied or admitted to the COEHD Teacher Certification Program. Preference will be given to those who are pursuing a teaching career in middle or high school environment.
Must be enrolled in at least 12 hours (full-time) at UTSA or its successor. An exception will be made during the Student (Clinical) Teaching semester.
Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
Incoming freshmen must have a minimum SAT score of 1100 and/or a minimum ACT score of 24/26.
Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Preference will be given to the following groups: graduates from any Northside ISD high schools in San Antonio, TX and who have demonstrated participation/leadership in community volunteering and/or extracurricular activities.
