Baptist Health Foundation Scholarship for Nutrition and Dietetics (Coordinated Program in Dietetics)
Must be enrolled in the Coordinated Program in Dietetics pursuing a B.S. / M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics at the undergraduate level as Seniors, or as Post-Bac students or at the Master level.
Student must be a permanent resident of the Foundation’s eight county service area: Bexar, Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Median and Wilson.
Student’s intent, following graduation from UTSA, is to remain and seek employment in any of these counties.
At the undergraduate level, award priority will be for students graduated from one of the following area school districts: Edgewood ISD, Harlandale ISD, San Antonio ISD, South San Antonio ISD, Southside ISD, Southwest ISD.
At the undergraduate level, students must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
At the post-baccaulareate level, students must have a minimum overall cumulative 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Must be enrolled in at least 10 semester hours in CPD coursework
Must have at least 90 credit hours, of which 22 hours must be in Nutrition and Dietetics coursework, completed by the semester the award is disbursed, i.e., by the start of the Spring Semester.
In order to be considered for selection, all applicants must submit an essay that addresses the following topics:
I. Describe your career goals and your plans after graduating from the Coordinated Dietetics Program.
II. Describe how you will apply your practicum experiences to your career goals. Please provide one or more specific examples.
II. Describe how you will prepare to pass the Registered Dietitian Exam and how you will maintain continuing education credits.
